Mike and Morris lived in the same village. While Morris owned the largest jewelry shop in the village, Mike was a poor farmer. Both had large families with many sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. One fine day, Mike, tired of not being able to feed his family, decided to leave the village and move to the city where he was certain to earn enough to feed everyone. Along with his family, he left the village for the city. At night, they stopped under a large tree. There was a stream running nearby where they could freshen up themselves. He told his sons to clear the area below the tree, he told his wife to fetch water and he instructed his daughters-in-law to make up the fire and started cutting wood from the tree himself. They didn’t know that in the branches of the tree, there was a thief hiding. He watched as Mike’s family worked together and also noticed that they had nothing to cook. Mike’s wife also thought the same and asked her husband ” Everything is ready but what shall we eat?”. Mike raised his hands to heaven and said,” Don’t worry. He is watching all of this from above. He will help us.”
The thief got worried as he had seen that the family was large and worked well together. Taking advantage of the fact that they did not know he was hiding in the branches, he decided to make a quick escape. He climbed down safely when they were not looking and ran for his life. But, he left behind the bundle of stolen jewels and money which dropped into Mike’s lap. Mike opened it and jumped with joy when he saw the contents. The family gathered all their belongings and returned to the village. There was great excitement when they told everyone how they got rich.
Morris thought that the tree was miraculous and this was a nice and quick way to earn some money. He ordered his family to pack some clothes and they set off as if on a journey. They also stopped under the same tree and Morris started commanding everyone as Mike had done. But no one in his family was willing to obey his orders. Being a rich family, they were used to having servants all around. So, the one who went to the river to fetch water enjoyed a nice bath. The one who went to get wood for fire went off to sleep. Morris’s wife said,” Everything is ready but what shall we eat ?” Morris raised his hands and said, ” Don’t worry. He is watching all of this from above. He will help us.”
As soon as he finished saying, the thief jumped down from the tree with a knife in hand. Seeing him, everyone started running around to save their lives. The thief stole everything they had and Morris and his family had to return to the village empty-handed, having lost all the valuables that they had taken with them.

The problems in Clocks usually deal with finding the angle between the hour hand and the minute hand, the number of times the two hands coincide, etc. The markings on the face of a clock are 60 spaces, one each for a minute. Every hour, the minute hand completes one round of 60 spaces and the hour hand completes one full round every 12 hours. In 60 minutes, the minute hand gains 55 spaces (also known as minute spaces) over the hour hand. For example, if the initial time is 12:00, then after 1 hour, the minute hand would cover 60 spaces whereas the hour hand would cover only 5 spaces. Thus, the minute hand covers 55 spaces extra than the hour hand. The minute hand covers 360 degrees in 60 minutes.=> In 1 minute, the minute hand covers 360 / 60 = 6 degrees hour hand covers 360 degrees in 12 hours.=> In 1 hour, the hour hand covers 360 / 12 = 30 degrees=> In 1 minute, the hour hand covers 30 / 60 = 0.50 degrees angle between the minute hand and the hour hand increases by 5.50 degrees every minute. For example, after 2 minutes, angle made by the minute hand = 2 x 6 = 12 degrees and angle made by the hour hand = 2 x 0.50 = 1 degree
=> Angle between the hour hand and the minute hand after 2 minutes = 12 – 1 = 11 degrees = 2 x 5.50 degrees every hour, the minute hand and the hour hand coincide once. If the minute hand and the hour hand are in the same line, then the angle between them is either 0 degrees or 180 degrees. The angle between the minute hand and the hour hand is 180 degrees if they are 30 spaces apart, 90 degrees if they are 15 spaces apart, and 0 degrees if they are 0-minute spaces apart. If the clock shows time ahead of the actual time, it is said to be running fast. For example, if the clock is showing 12:15 PM but it is actually 12:00 PM, then the clock is said to be running 15 minutes fast. If the clock shows time behind the actual time, it is said to be running slow. For example, if the clock is showing 2:15 PM but it is actually 2:30 PM, then the clock is said to be running 15 minutes slow.

Dolphins are regarded as the friendliest creatures in the sea and stories of them helping drowning sailors have been common since Roman times. The more we learn about dolphins, the more we realize that their society is more complex than people previously imagined. They look after other dolphins when they are ill, care for pregnant mothers and protect the weakest in the community, as we do. Some scientists have suggested that dolphins have a language but it is much more probable that they communicate with each other without needing words. Could any of these mammals be more intelligent than man? Certainly, the most common argument in favor of man’s superiority over them that we can kill them more easily than they can kill us is the least satisfactory. On the contrary, the more we discover about these remarkable creatures, the less we appear superior when we destroy them.

Naval architects never claim that a ship is unsinkable, but the sinking of the passenger-and-car ferry Estonia in the Baltic surely should have never have happened. It was well designed and carefully maintained. It carried the proper number of lifeboats. It had been thoroughly inspected the day of its fatal voyage. Yet hours later, Estonia rolled over and sank in a cold, stormy night. It went down so quickly that most of those on board, caught in their dark, flooding cabins, had no chance to save themselves: Of those who managed to scramble overboard, only 139 survived. The rest died of hypothermia before the rescuers could pluck them from the cold sea. The final death toll amounted to 912 souls. However, there was an unpleasant number of questions about why Estonia sank and why so many survivors were men in the prime of life, while most of the dead were women, children, and the elderly.

Nature writing is nonfiction or fiction prose or poetry about the natural environment. Nature writing encompasses a wide variety of works, ranging from those that place primary emphasis on natural history facts (such as field guides) to those in which philosophical interpretations predominate. It includes natural history essays, poetry, essays of solitude or escape, as well as travel and adventure writing.

Nature writing often draws heavily on scientific information and facts about the natural world; at the same time, it is frequently written in the first person and incorporates personal observations of and philosophical reflections upon nature.

Modern nature writing traces its roots to the works of natural history that were popular in the second half of the 18th century and throughout the 19th. An important early figure was the “parson-naturalist” Gilbert White (1720 – 1793), a pioneering English naturalist and ornithologist. He is best known for his Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne (1789).
